In the third person singular number for the simple present tense, the

verb always ends in s, es.[He, She, It are 3^rd person singular.]

Enter “es” to verbs ending in: “ch, ss, x, sh”

Examples:

• He publishes the book.
• She indexes her document
• My sister watches television
• He presses this.

The third person changes the [auxiliary verb] "do to does" for negative and interrogative forms.

Examples:

• He does not go to school regularly.
• Does he go to school regularly?

The third person changes the -y to -ies if there is a consonant before "y".

Examples:

• The bird flies in the sky. [fly-flies]
• The baby cries. [cry-cries]

Add “s” to verbs ending in y if there is a Vowel before "y".

Examples:

• Rafique plays cricket
• My father prays his prayer every day.

• She fans herself.
• He tries very hard.
